Warhammer 40K

Some of Our Own
Submitted by loquacious on January 17, 2010 - 7:00pm
Building community, growing the gaming scene, and being a fun place to play & hang out are very important to us at Armored Gopher. We owe a great deal of what makes us great to the many folks that come here, and in some cases, CAME here. When folks move away, we miss them. Sometimes so much that we hold _reunion_tournaments_ in an effort to get them to come "home".
We have an awesome group of regulars that play 40K here, and it is due in some part to a few guys that have since moved away. Mr. Chambers & Mr. Hunter have done a great deal to grow the 40K community here. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished. One of the most popular & best known 40K blogs/networks did a writeup of our friends Chambers & Farmpunk this week. Please take a moment to check out this article & the blogs involved. Give some props to our friends & the great community we have here!

WH40K: Escalation League
Submitted by Squirl on February 23, 2010 - 3:17pmWeek One of Armored Gopher Games' Escalation League!
Point Level: 500 points.
No force Organization
Only Troop Slots or HQ Slots available.
What does this mean?? You may have up to 6 troop slots and 2 HQ slots
What am I forced to use?? You do not have to have one HQ and two troops. You may have 3 troops and no HQ. You can have 2 HQ and no troops, etc.
All stols are dedicated?? Once you fill a slot that slot must remain in your army list until the end of the league. This means any unit may take this slot during the game, but the slot must remain on your army list and must remain full during each game.
Example Lists
- Two tactical squads and a rhino as a dedicated transport = 2 Troops slots (dedicated transports do not take up a slot of there own).
- One chapter master and honor guard = 1 HQ slot (retenues do not count as their own slot).
- Three tactical squads = 3 Troop slots
- Chaplin and company commander = 2 HQ Slots
- Company commander and tactical squad = 1 HQ slot and one Troop slot
