Black Heart (D&D4E) - (Rob S.)
Submitted by GopherDave on August 31, 2010 - 12:53amBrief intro for the campaign:
The small village of Ravenswood has enjoyed a relatively peaceful existence since the end of the Race Wars. However, when the priest of Moradin dies suddenly, events are set in motion that threaten to tear all of the world of Kitara asunder.
Brief intro about me as a DM:
I try to run a fairly relaxed game. I certainly don't claim to be an expert on the rules and if I can't find an answer quickly I'll make a ruling that lasts for the rest of the session until I can look it up further. I am a big fan of character backgrounds as it gives me an idea as to how to tailor the campaign in a fashion that all the players will enjoy. I like combat, but also feel that while its an important part of the game, its not the only part of the game -- still, though, there will usually be a fight to be found.
Character Gen will be standard point buy as outlined in the PHB. Feel free to take a background so long as it is not setting specific (Eberron, FR) though if there is a certain benefit you are looking for from one of those backgrounds talk to me, I'm sure we can work something out (keeping in mind you only get one benefit, not all of the options).
Feel free to ask any questions here or to e-mail me at rscales@co.champaign.il.us If you e-mail me, be sure to put "D&D" or "Armored Gopher Game" or some such in the subject line as my work filter often sets aside unknown addresses.
Hope to see you all out there!
Cheers,
Rob

Looking for more Living Forgotten Realms players
Submitted by tobimaro on August 16, 2010 - 10:18pmHi!
The Living Forgotten Realms group is looking to start meeting on ocassional Tuesdays, and we are putting the call out for additional players. If you are interested in joining us, keep an eye out on the calendar for our games. Otherwise you can join our LFR Yahoo group. The address is:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/champaign-urbanaLFR/
I will be asking for the night of Tuesday the 24 for our next game. Our games begin around 6 PM, and will usually run 4 hours. We begin with a run of AKAN2-1 Set Adrift, for character levels 11-14.
Now, if you are interested in playing, but do not have a character in that level band, I will be at the store about a half-hour early to facilitate creation of a characters. I have my version of the D&D Character Builder available on my laptop and will have the latest version of the Character Creation Guide.
Hope to see you then.

Living Forgotten Realms event AKAN2-1 Set Adrift
Submitted by tobimaro on August 15, 2010 - 2:23amLiving Forgotten Realms event AKAN2-1 Set Adrift, by DaK.
Blurb: "It is not often that adventurers get approached to do a favor for the military, but they’re offering good coin for nothing more complicated than a quick trip across the Sea of Fallen Stars. Who are you to say no? A Living Forgotten Realms adventure set in Akanûl for characters levels 11-14."
For those interested in playing but lacking a character, there will be someone at the store around 5:30 to assist in creating an appropriate PC. Extra character sheets will be provided, if necessary. And we will have a computer with access to the D&D Character Builder to make creating the PC easier.
